NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY THE NETHERLANDS

What started in Australia shooting on multi award winning level with my self developed style, I had to relarn the whole art of night photography in Europe- Netherlands. I am trying to continue in the Netherlands. Though extreme light pollution makes is that I needed to re learn the standard exposure settings. Adapt all settings to each new landscape- situation here in the Netherlands.
Let’s start with a cool image of the Colloseum a photo taken in 2010 whilst visiting my family spending 5 days in Rome which was just a 3-4 hours sflight (was living in Australia still till 2018)

Here in my area living in the Netherlands I cannot shoot the stars like I did in Australia. So I decided to focus on one of my other interests in photography: Architecture. Decided to Photograph all the older than 100 years old buildings in my town Deurne by night and also photograph (against my “photography religion to NEVER EVER COMBINE HUMEN MADE OBJECTS/ TECHNOLOGY WITH MOTHER NATURE) lol. As it is practically IMPOSSIBLE to shoot nature here to start with not seeing or a 5G tower everywhere or buildings or human made objects. So BLENDING THE TWO, Marrying the two to create what I find incredibly frustrating and ugly and a nuisance to to see especially a 5G tower with pretty stars. As I like to make my world as I experience it with my visually thinking brain, more beautiful to make it all a bit more bearable to live with.

Recently seen: the Northern Lights above my home town. Never ever seen the Northern Lights before ever. Only visible from the pole circle north NORWAY SWEDEN. But a large solar flare happened so…..
This is day 2, day one I missed out on. 🙁 Day 1 was even more spectacular!
