OWENS ASPRINGS TAG ALONG PHOTO TOURS WITH JOYCE VAN DIJK PHOTOGRAPHY

Tag Along Photography Tour at Owen Springs Reserve

Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory

15 April 2015, 9am

If you would like to learn more about capturing digital photos in the stunning Central Australian landscape, then the Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT (PWCNT) has the activity just for you.

PWCNT Senior Ranger, Sheridan Martin said people were invited to join the tag along photography tour through the Owen Springs Reserve on Monday, 4 May.

“Participants will be joined by a local ranger and local guest photographer Joyce van Dijk, who is volunteering her time to provide trade secrets on snapping great photos,” Ms Martin said.

“The tour will visit numerous top photo locations through the reserve, giving participants a chance to test out their cameras and learn from an expert in the field.

“You’ll need to have a high clearance 4WD and a digital SLR is preferred, along with a wide angle lens for landscape shots and zoom for wildlife and detail shots, however a point and shoot camera will also be fine.

“The cost is $10 and bookings are essential with strictly limited numbers, so please call the Alice Springs Parks and Wildlife office on 8951 8250 to secure your place.”

The tag along tour will take place from 1pm – 6pm on Monday, 4 May at the Owen Springs Reserve.

Participants are to meet at the start of the southern entrance shelter to the Reserve, off the South Stuart Highway.

Bookings can be made by calling the Alice Springs Parks and Wildlife office on 8951 8250.

Owen Springs Reserve is a 40 minute drive, 60km south west of Alice Springs and provides an outback four wheel drive experience, a quiet bush setting for camping (without facilities) and ideal picnicking and bird watching opportunities.
